Zoide is a marketplace for digital collectibles — pieces — inscribed on the Bitcoin SV blockchain. You can browse it without an account, and with a wallet you can buy, sell, bid, mint and create your own collections.
Three things are worth knowing before anything else, because they surprise almost everybody.
Your account is a wallet
There is no sign-up form, no password to choose and no confirmation email. You create or import a wallet, and that wallet is your account. The first time you connect, Zoide either recognises the wallet and signs you in, or it does not and creates the account for you. Same button, both cases.
An email address is optional and comes later: it only exists to send you the notifications you switch on. You can use the whole platform without giving one.
Your keys never reach our servers
The private keys of your wallet are generated in your browser and stored there, encrypted with your password.
This is not a detail, it is the whole design:
- We cannot spend your funds, move your pieces, or sign anything on your behalf.
- We cannot recover your wallet if you lose both your password and your backup. Nobody can.
- A court order asking us for your keys would find nothing to hand over.
The trade-off is deliberate: it costs you a recovery option, and it buys you a platform that physically cannot be compelled to give away what it does not have.
Back up your wallet before you put value in it. Clearing your browser's site data for Zoide deletes the encrypted wallet stored there. Without a backup, that is the end of it.

Everything you do that touches a piece — minting, buying, selling, transferring, listing — is a transaction on a public ledger that is not ours and that we cannot modify. Once it is on chain it is visible to anyone, in any country, permanently.
Most of it is open, some of it is not
Anyone with a wallet can browse, buy, sell and mint. A few features are gated behind a privilege: a subscription, an on-chain rank, or a creator tier. When you hit one, you get told exactly what is missing and how to get it, rather than a disabled button with no explanation:
What Zoide is not
It is not an exchange, a bank, or an investment product. There is no yield, no staking and no promised return. Prices are what someone else is willing to pay, and they can go to zero.
Where the name comes from
Zoide comes from the diminutive of the Spanish word espermatozoide. That is the origin of the project's name and nothing more: what the platform is today is a marketplace for digital collectibles on Bitcoin SV, and that is what the name stands for now.
